GOLF SWING SEQUENCE

A Golf Swing is the most complex movement in the sport. It requires greater muscular strength, better joint flexibility and coordination.  All these fitness factors improve the golf performance, games score and playing satisfaction.

A Golf Swing Sequence can be broken into five basic positions. They are

  1. Set-Up
  2. Backswing
  3. Transition
  4. Downswing
  5. Follow-through

Rhythm, Timing and Tempo are necessary prerequisites for a good golf swing. The swing sequence can be explained as follows.

Always concentrate on the target, when you are about to swing. Keep the hands, chest, arms in the right position to determine the swing’s shape and tempo. Keep the club head on the right place. Position the left arm near the body and the right elbow bend towards the ground. Turn the head right. Lower your body. Straighten yourself and release the arm. Then rotate the body. Finish keeping the left hand above left shoulder. This completes the swing sequence.

Full concentration, a good swing speed, and a perfect timing are very much needed to execute a perfect swing. A consistent practice is essential to achieve a good swing.
