| Teeing ground
Teeing ground in Golf is the beginning spot or area for striking the first stoke of a player. A set of tee markers denotes the boundaries of teeing ground. By considering the standing position of the player facing the hole in the teeing ground, outer ends of the tee markers marks the left, right and front side of the tee.
Teeing round has a depth of two club-lengths. There will be a minimum of three sets of tee markers in different colors in most of the courses to indicate different yardages. Some courses may use six or more. Blue or black tee markers indicate the ground as championship ground and green is for indicating the ground used by beginners and fresher. Other colors can also be found for other purposes.
Even though, the rules did not indicate any thing about the requirement of grass in the teeing ground or about the height of the grass, teeing ground are generally found to be grassy with cut short grass to permit the least possible touch with the ball.
