The link style course is also called as “Seaside links” is the oldest method and was first introduced in Scotland. This course is the most conventional form of golf course which is located in the coastal area. Since there is no moisture, the grasses with long roots which are very rough have short blades. Link courses are distinct from the “park” grasses.
The link grasses are bare and hard which helps the ball to bounce. Link turfs reflect the beauty of the nature and the limited resources available to design the golf course. The links were extensive and undulating and possess no agricultural value and therefore it can be used for golf course. The Links turfs drain completely and thus provide a perfect golfing place through out the year. The Open Championship is mostly carried out on link courses. Some of the popular links courses are at Pebble Beach and in Wisconsin.
