| WOOD TYPE GOLF CLUB
In Golf, a Golf club is used to hit the balls. It can be wood, iron, hybrid etc. For hitting the balls to a long distance, wood type Golf club is used. For hitting the ball placed on a tee, a class of woods called drivers is used. Another class of wood is the fairway woods. The driver is the lightest, longest and the largest of the Golf clubs found in the bag of a Golf player.
The wood type Golf clubs have wooden clubhead and hence the name. Nowadays the head may be of some composite material or metal. The numbering of woods is done on the basis of the backward slant on the head of golf clubs that is designed to drive the ball high in the air. The numbering starts in the ascending order. The wood having lowest slant is named as 1 wood. The loft of 1 wood is typically 10.5 degree.
