| Stroke Play in Golf
Stroke play, the scoring system of golf is alike with the match play. This term is also named as medal play. It is the scoring method used for most of professional golf tournaments. In this method, the players record the total digit of strokes occurred in the play and the person who achieves the lowest total score is announced as the winner. Scores are generally recorded in relation to the par; it is done so to compare easily the scores of one player with that of other player. If any tie occurs after placing of regulation digit of holes in a professional tournament, a playoff occurs among the tied players. Certain playoffs use previously fixed digits of holes ranging 3- 18. After the playoff if at least two players persist as tied, the play remains under a sudden death format along with the fist player in order to attain a hole outright.
