| Sand Wedge
Sand Wedge is a kind of golf club designed to make lower- longer shots and higher- shorter shots. Sand wedge is made up of heavy irons weighing approximately 40 ounces. Gene Sarazen is regarded as the architect of sand hedge. Before lob wedges were introduced, Sand wedges were formerly used for high lofts. The shafts of this club are shortest (80-90cm) when compared to other clubs. One of the unique features of the club is bounce. Unlike other clubs, the sole of this club is designed at an appropriate angle with the ground. Sand wedge can make the highest amount of bounce. Sand Wedge is generally used to pull out the ball from a hollow. This makes it useful in various soft lies like mud, thick uneven and moist ground. Sand Wedge can also be used with a full swing like any other short iron. A talented golf player can make a shot with sand wedge ranging from 80-100 yards.
