Putting green

In golf, putt means to play a hit on the given putting surface. The stroke is usually played on the green using a putter and the ball does not move away from the ground. When the player is on the green, he can put the ball towards the hole till the ball is made moved in to the cup. The putting green grass is made very short so that it helps the ball to roll to several yards. The direction of the growth of the blade in the grass can affect the roll and the term is known as grain of the green. Apart from the blade, a slope or a break can also influence the ball’s roll. The cup can be seen within the green and it has 108 millimetre diameter and 10 centimetre length and the position of the cup is changed every day.  Usually, best-quality greens will be used as the putting greens.
