In golf, Tee is a stand which eases the player to strike the stationary ball by supporting it.
Tee is generally used for striking the first stroke of each hole and the striking area of first stroke casually called as teeing ground. The process of supporting the ball by tee is known as teeing and is permitted normally on the first shot of a hole known as tee shot.
Any how teeing is allowed for other shots illegally. Seasonal or local rules permits teeing for shots other than tee shot. One of the rules called ‘winter rule’ permits the players teeing for other shots for protecting turf from unusual vulnerable conditions.
Even though, 2.125" is the standard length of the golf tee, much shorter and longer tees are permitted as per the preference of the players. At present design of the golf tees are adjusted according to the holster of the ball and are popularly known as trajectory or friction tees. Drive shots gets the maximum benefit of teeing.
